If you want to make a website, you need two things - a domain and a web hosting plan for it. The domain registration is the actual website address which you type in an Internet browser to access a website, while the hosting space is where your site data is going to be. These are two very closely related, yet independent services, although many people think that registering the domain is enough. Similar to the disk space and the monthly traffic features that a given web hosting plan provides, there are a certain number of registered domain names that you can include as hosted which means that you can have the web content for them in some account even if the domains have been registered via a different firm. In technical terms, it doesn't matter if a domain is registered and hosted with the same company or is registered with one company and directed to a different one - in either case your sites will function exactly the same way.
