RAM, or Random Access Memory, is a form of computer data storage, that enables the info to be read randomly without accessing the preceding bytes before that. That makes the RAM substantially quicker than other types of storage devices like DVDs or HDDs where all of the info needs to be read in order to access specific information. If you have a shared hosting account, the total amount of memory which your web applications can use can't be fixed and may sometimes be determined by the free memory that is available on the physical server. When using a standalone hosting server, however, there is always a minimum amount of physical memory that shall be for your use at all times and will never be allocated to other customers even when it isn't used. That is valid with our virtual and dedicated hosting servers.
